promotions for Sunrise Dojo!

2005 - Hanshi William R. Cavalier, Jr.,
10th
Dan, awarded 2 significant promotions on Dec. 3, 2005 at the
Tatsu Do annual Christmas Party.
Kyoshi
Tomas Roztocil, Hanshi's student since 1971, has been awarded
the rank of 8th Degree Blackbelt in Tatsu Do Karate/Kobudo.
Virginia
Burnside, Kyoshi's student since 1979, has been ranked to 6th
Degre Blackbelt in Tatsu Do Karate/Kobudo. She is the first woman to achieve
this rank since 1980. Tatsu Do follows the traditional
F.A.J.K.O. time in grade guidelines, which require time in grade study
for 8th dan of 8 years and 5 years for 6th dan. |

Sunrise Dojo welcomes New Students:
Cameron Snyder promoted to Yellow Belt
James Wheeler and Kyle MacKay achieve
1st Degree Black Belt!

After 5 years of study and at the age of 44, James Wheeler
successfully tested for the rank of Shodan. He overcame lower back pain and
delivered excellent performance at the test.
Kyle MacKay, 36, has been
studying nearly ten years and and decided to concentrate during this past year
to complete all the requirements.
The test is a grueling affair where the
candidates perform all 17 Kata, all basic and advanced Karate techniques,
JuJutsu and Aiki Jutsu technique, extensive self defense, including defense
against weapons such as a club, knife, chain and a gun as well as random defense
against single and multiple attackers. |
